Federal Tax Credits For

Energy Efficient Home Improvements

How has the new Stimulus bill affected the tax Credit for energy efficient Home Improvements?

WINDOW REPLACEMENT ENERGY TAX CREDIT

Qualify for a credit of up to $1,500.00 on your next federal tax return by purchasing energy smart products from Home Building Solutions.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 signed on February 17th by, President Obama provides a tax credit for qualifying energy-efficient home improvements through 2010. Homeowners can receive a tax credit equal to 30% of their investment, up to $1,500.00.

In order to receive the tax credit, the window or door must achieve a .30 or lower U-factor and .30 or lower Solar Heat Gain Coefficient. This is more stringent than the current ENERGY STAR specifications. Home Building Solutions is proud to offer an unequaled breadth of products that qualify for the tax credit.

  • The credit is equal to 30% of the investment with the aggregate amount not to exceed &1,500.00 for during the two taxable years.
  • Purchase and installation of qualifying products must occur between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.
  • The purchase of the qualified windows must be made during the taxable year for which the credit is being claimed.
  • The credit is allowed only for the price of the qualifying windows and doors. Installation and sales tax are excluded.
  • Claim the corresponding tax credit for your purchase on you Federal taxes for either the 2009 and/or 2010 tax year.
